Too Good To Waste!
Often in the retailers or manufacturer’s product life cycle, items will become “not saleable” or “unsaleable” due to many possible issues: close to date, out of date, incorrect labeling, going out of stock, scratch and dents, etc..
According to the EPA, companies do not want to have what is referred to as “waste”. However, when they do, the next step or Nationwide initiative is to DONATE this product to organizations like ours to help sustain hungry people!
United Against Poverty partners with organizations who donate truckloads of product to share in our commitment to help families and individuals break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential.
We cannot thank our Champions of Compassion Product Partners enough for helping us to not only sustain hundreds and thousands of families in need but, to help lift them UP! OUT! of the cycle of poverty through this program.
United Against Poverty is proud to have committed to being an Endorser of the Food Recovery Challenge. As part of EPA’s Food Recovery Challenge, organizations pledge to improve their sustainable food management practices and report their results. The FRC is part of EPA’s Sustainable Materials Management Program (SMM). SMM seeks to reduce the environmental impact of materials through their entire life cycle. This includes how they are extracted, manufactured, distributed, used, reused, recycled, and disposed.
Attention Product Partners:
Organizations are encouraged to follow the Food Recovery Hierarchy
to prioritize their actions to prevent and divert wasted food. Follow the link to the EPA’s website below to find out more about the Food Recovery Challenge!
